UUID Generator

Create one or multiple cryptographically random UUID v4 identifiers.

Developer tool guide

Generate up to 20 random UUID v4 identifiers

Choose how many identifiers you need and generate standards-shaped UUID v4 values instantly. Each result uses the browser’s crypto.randomUUID capability.

The UUIDs are created on your device and are not sent to Toolyma. They are useful as general-purpose identifiers, but uniqueness must still be enforced by the system that stores them.

How to use UUID Generator

  1. Choose a quantity.Enter any number from 1 to 20; values outside that range are limited automatically.
  2. Generate the UUIDs.The browser creates a new random UUID v4 for each requested item.
  3. Review the list.Multiple values appear on separate lines in the result box.
  4. Copy the result.Copy one value or the complete list into your project.

Practical ways to use this developer tool

Seed test data

Create identifiers for fixtures, mocks and local development.

Assign record IDs

Generate candidate identifiers before inserting new records.

Label distributed events

Use a UUID to correlate requests, jobs or messages.

Create temporary references

Give files or objects a non-sequential reference during a workflow.

Behavior, privacy and limitations

  • Version 4: the values are random UUIDs rather than time-based or name-based identifiers.
  • Quantity limit: one request generates between 1 and 20 UUIDs.
  • Browser support: the tool requires a modern browser with crypto.randomUUID.
  • Application constraints: databases should still use a unique constraint when duplicates must be rejected.

Frequently asked questions

Which UUID version is generated?

The tool generates random UUID version 4 values.

How many can I generate at once?

Between 1 and 20 identifiers per click.

Are the UUIDs generated securely?

They use the cryptographic random UUID function provided by a modern browser.

Is a UUID guaranteed never to collide?

No finite random identifier can provide an absolute guarantee, so critical systems should enforce uniqueness.

Are generated UUIDs stored?

No. They are created locally in your browser.
